Will the Hot Licks Exhaust Inc. kit work on E.F.I. (electronic fuel injection) cars, trucks, or motorcycles ?

What is your return policy?

Q: Will the Hot Licks Exhaust Inc. kit work on E.F.I. (electronic fuel injection) cars, trucks, or motorcycles ?
A: Yes and no. It will work on almost any E.F.I. car, truck, or motorcycle without a catalytic converter provided it does not have 4 or 6 cylinder engine ( motorcycles are exempt from this, but still can't have a catalytic converter). Cars or trucks with E.F.I. need to have an 8 cylinder engine or bigger to shoot flames. If you have an E.F.I. 4 or 6 cylinder engine with a turbo, N.O.S. , or major engine horsepower modifications the kit will work. If your car will not shoot flames using this basic kit you can still have some options ( see Hot Licks Exhaust Inc. Mega kit/plans on the Flame Kits page). Catalytic converters burn off gasses the motor doesn't burn therefore there is nothing to burn at the end of the tailpipes. You can remove the catalytic converter if you have one, but I do not recommend this as there are laws in every state that require you to have a properly working catalytic converter on your vehicle. There are fines for not meeting these laws.

Q: Is flame throwing dangerous?
A: As with anything use your head. Make sure no one is behind your vehicle when you shoot flames or else they might get in the way of the flame. Also your pipes will be very hot right after you get done shooting flames so make sure no one brushes their leg up against the tailpipe.

Q: Is it hard to install the flame thrower kit?
A: No, it takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, and very easy to follow detailed instructions are included.

Q: Will this kit work on single or dual exhaust ?
A: YES ! Each kit is designed to work on single or dual exhaust. Just choose which type of kit you need!

Q: Will shooting flames damage my engine ?
A: No. Installing the kit on your car and shooting flames will not damage your motor. Keep in mind that when you shoot flames you will have to rev up the motor slightly before shooting flames. Just don't get crazy with the revving. You can get a nice flame without revving your engine up that much.

Q: Will shooting flames burn my vehicles paint or tires ?
A: 99% of the time you do not have to worry about this. Unless your exhaust points the flame directly towards your paint (I have never in my life seen an exhaust like this by the way) you will be alright. Keep in mind that when you shoot flames the flames do not stay on constantly like a lighter or a torch. The flames will shoot out in short 1-4 second burst.

Q: Will this kit shoot 30 foot flames like I see on the internet and at car shows?
A: This kit is the major foundation for shooting flames from 1 foot to 30 feet. If you are not happy with the size of your flames you can build an injection system that uses different types of fuels (gas, alcohol, propane etc.), but these type of system are not for the timid and are very serious and dangerous to mess with. It is possible and we do sell plans, but this is serious stuff and will be at your own risk ! Q: Will the Hot Licks Exhaust Inc. kit work on motorcycle's ?
A: yes, motorcycles work great provided they do not have a catalytic converter. Kits for motorcycles have special installation instructions included. (please e-mail me to make sure your motorcycle has the proper setup to use the kit before ordering. (see the photos and videos pages of motorcycles in action!)

Q: Do I need to buy coils, spark plugs and spark plug wires?
A: NO,NO,NO,NO,NO! Hot Licks kits come with small easy to hide solid state professionally manufactured control module/s that operate the whole system. All other kits on the market require you to buy and install large bulky old fashion coils that can leak because they are oil filled.

Q: I saw or heard somewhere that all you have to do to get flames is hook a switch up to the battery and some spark plugs in the exhaust ! Will that work?
A: No. It doesn't work and you can literally blow your mufflers up like a stick of dynamite ! There's a lot more to it .

Q: Is it illegal to shoot flames? in my state?
A: Generally it is not LEGAL. Check the laws in your State to be sure. This is sold strictly for off- road use. Cops just don't like these things for some reason????

Q: Will I get flames like the movie "Gone in 60 seconds" or "The Fast and the Furious"?
A: NO, but with some additions to this kit, some changes and some know how, the "Got Flames?" kit will shoot flames any length you want. See Mega Hot Licks Exhaust Inc. Flame kit/plans.

Q: What do I do if I can't get the kit to work?
A: Each kit has a troubleshooting section, but if you still need help you can E-Mail us. Hot Licks Exhaust Inc. electronic boxes will NOT be exchanged, if tampered with or opened, period ! All kits have been tested and permanently sealed for proper performance before they are shipped. If you have to send back your box (include return postage), the replacement box will be sent at our discretion once the box in question is received. Buyer pays return shipping.

Q: May I buy just the special push button or just the special weld-in plug bungs ?
A: Yes Go to order page and buy the specific part you need.

Q: How can this kit work with out choking the carburetor ?
A: There is generally enough gas the motor does not burn to get flames without using a choke.

Q: Do you warranty your product ?
A: Yes! A limited lifetime warranty is offered with each kit. Most all flame thrower kit manufacturers selling kits today only offer a 30 day warranty. That should tell you the quality of their kit if they will only back it for 30 days.

Q: What is your return policy?
A: All kits have a lifetime warranty against manufacture defects. Kits that have not been installed and that are returned within 14 days of receipt in original condition will be given full refund minus shipping cost and a 15% restocking fee.
